Airdrie
School of Art is designed to introduce
students of all ages to the basics
of realistic drawing and painting. Experimentation
and creativity prosper when built on a solid foundation.
The
structure of curriculum includes two parts. At first, every new student
is given an introductory course of Art Basics (about 6 weeks long). Students
will learn theory according to the course outline, followed by practical
exercises.
For
students familiar with art basics and realistic drawing/painting theory,
classes will be project oriented. Students will be introduced to different
art techniques on a more serious level.
In
Airdrie School of Art all students are offered enough structured guidance
to be successful and enough freedom to be independently creative.
There
is a lot of reference material available for students to use in the studio
or sign out to take it home. There is also an extensive library of art
books available for signing out and reading at home.
We organize an Art Show twice a year, showcasing the student's work. Please
check student's gallery for the latest artwork.

Ayriss
Jewelry
Making, owner of Dreamspirations
Growing
up I enjoyed all sorts of artistic outlets including music, art and other
types of crafts. My whole family is very creative and we all spent many
a winter’s eve spending time together creating interesting objects
and crafts.
Professionally I come from a background in the lumber and hardware retail
business and after moving to the wholesale end of the same business I
realized that being cooped up in an office was not for me. After 22 years
of working in the retail business I decided to pursue my dreams of being
an artist and in August of 2010 the concept of Dreamspirations was born.
I am very excited to be able to share my love of creating beautiful pieces
of jewelry and hope that this skill will enrich your lives as much as
it has enriched mine.
Jaime Keenan - Freelance Photographer
Instructor
My
belief is that photographers are always students and must practice their
skill every day, this is the only sure way to improve. I have been studying
photography for the past 5 years by taking courses at the Bowman Art Center
(Lethbridge) and at SAIT, the remainder of my skill is self taught. My
true passion in photography lies in photojournalism, however I love all
types of photography. Currently I photograph weddings with Kristen Shima
Photography, however I have lots of projects on the go, you can see more
of my work at www.jaimekeenan.com
In my past life I completed a Bachelor of Management degree from the
University of Lethbridge.

I believe
my work reflects the tradition of painting, and sculpture with a contemporary
flare. My pieces are textile oriented with emphasis on pattern, the figure
and architecture transforming together. The strongest representation of
this is in my sculptural pieces.
I am a professional
artist and teacher. My studio is just east of Balzac on the 566. I substitute
teach art classes at the Airdrie School of Art.
